Garagen-Brunch

The independent association Wie wär’s mal mit has been surrounded by inspiring people for ten years. This edition of “Brought to the Table” celebrated “10 years of wiewaersmalmit.ch” with an unconventional brunch inside an industrial garage of a former mustard and mayonnaise factory at the Franck Areal in Basel. A festive vegan cake, homemade bread, dips, and fruit were served, enjoyed in an atmosphere more often linked with everyday culture, cars, and craft than with cuisine.

Inspired by the values of the autonomous platform wiewaersmalmit.ch founded in 2014, the Sunday brunch unfolded as a relaxed gathering filled with taste, music, neighborhood spirit, and bonds old and new. Together with food designer Olivia Fiechter, plants by Claudio Gattiker and Pflanzenbroggi, creative pairings, and a “decade of articles in a jar,” the event invited reflection on growth and transformation through ten years of voluntary creative work. The rawness of the garage intensified the experience, weaving connections between daily life, community, and culinary practice.
